About Us
Transparency. Accountability. Trust.
GTE was founded to make sure the lessons of Grenfell change what happens on site — not just what's written in law.
Why We Exist
A defining moment for building safety

The Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017 claimed 72 lives and exposed a systemic failure in regulation, culture and accountability. Dame Judith Hackitt's Independent Review made it clear: the system was not fit for purpose and needed fundamental change.
That change is now underway. New legislation has reshaped the landscape — introducing stricter accountability, clearer responsibilities and the “golden thread” of information across a building’s lifecycle:
- Fire Safety Act 2021
- Building Safety Act 2022
- Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
- BS 9991:2024
- Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025
The regulatory framework has changed. Now culture must too.
GTE exists to bridge the gap between legislation and reality — providing the tools, knowledge and accountability needed to deliver safer buildings, and raising standards in practice, not just on paper.
Our Mission
Driven by life and asset preservation
- 01
Empower owners and managers
Give asset owners and managers the information and confidence to challenge existing practice — and to expect better.
- 02
Help contractors deliver
Ensure contractors fulfil their commitments under the Building Safety Act, using technology that makes compliant work easier to deliver and prove.
What We Stand For
Three principles behind everything we build
Transparency
Openness and honesty about what was done, by whom and how — because the people responsible for buildings need to know.
Accountability
Every decision linked to a named, competent person. Responsibility should sit where it belongs.
Trust
A permanent, verifiable record that every stakeholder can rely on — for the life of the building.
